Position Description

Position Overview:  Professional office assistant for multi-church association. Contact with member churches, church & denomination staff, vendors, church members and others in the community. Office management and financial administration tasks in support of Associational Mission Strategist (AMS). Independent work (see Skills Required below). 

  • Hours/Location: approximately (18-20) hours per week. Mon-Fri, daily hours to be agreed upon with AMS. Work from home.

  • Holidays (Mon-Fri):  New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Dec. 24, 25, 26, Birthday.

  • Insurance or Retirement: None provided

  • Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Financial - Process financial transactions for approval (bank deposits, accounts payable, issuance of receipts, budget planning & performance). Provide monthly reports to AMS (balance sheet, budget report, revenue/contributions, general ledger, bank reconciliation)

  • Communication - Professional & timely verbal & written correspondence via phone, text, email, newsletter, mailings, social media, with association staff, church and denomination leaders, volunteers, update online calendar, and publish approved website and social media updates

  • Records - Maintain office contact lists, files and documents; track association resources lent to member churches (books, videos, equipment, etc.)

  • Planning/Scheduling - Coordinate meeting & training sessions: schedules, planning and materials preparation

  • Other - Other duties as assigned by AMS

Skills required

  • Bondable w/track record of confidentiality. Must pass a background check.

  • Software: MS Office and Google Suite, QuickBooks Online, Facebook Group & website admin; Member church data maintenance; Constant Contact a plus.

  • Financial and program results reporting & analysis.

  • Professional written and verbal communication

  • Develop and utilize new ideas to ensure excellent communication

  • Time management & inventory control

  • Organization & problem-solving initiative

  • Familiarity with Christian precepts and Baptist distinctives preferred

Education required

High School or equivalent (required). Some college a plus. Resume and references required.
